The purpose of Canada's Business Immigration Program is an attempt to attract experienced business people to Canada who will support the development of a strong and prosperous Canadian economy. It is an attempt to promote economic development and employment in Canada by attracting business-minded individuals for immigration to Canada who possess venture capital, business acumen and entrepreneurial skills, who can invest in, start, or buy enterprises in Canada and are expected to support the development of a strong and prosperous Canadian economy.
Canada has three (3) categories of Business Immigration: Investors, Entrepreneurs and Self-Employed persons.
(i) Investors
(ii) Entrepreneurs
(iii) Self-Employed
Selection Criteria
To be eligible for selection as business immigrants, applicants must first meet the definition of the class under which they are applying (investor, entrepreneur or self-employed person). Applicants are then assessed against five selection criteria and must obtain a minimum of 35 points.
